Since I started Peaceful Separation, it was always my intention to produce regular content – at least one blog post per week. Around January, life just got in the way and I had to refocus my attention elsewhere… a big one being my upcoming wedding in September.

But, now I’ve found that I have more time on my hands and want to give needed attention to Peaceful Separation, both the blog and the effort.

The Facebook page I run has been getting more likes and more engagements lately. I can’t help but think that it just might have something to do with the fact that for the past six months we’ve had a senile septuagenarian in the White House, who is clearly losing his mental capabilities, yet somehow seems to be able to push through an amazing amount of policies and spending.

It’s becoming obvious what many of us have known for quite some time – there are other people running the show, and it’s more than likely the same pissed-off people who tried for four years to extricate the 45th POTUS.

I’m not here to float conspiracy theories, although the people who have over the past year turned out to be correct about most of them. I’m simply here to say that if this is the system, I want out. I want to build a new society with others who want no part of this corrupt corporatist ruling class who continue to portray themselves as elected officials representing our interests.

I want no more part of this. If others are content with this farce, they’re welcome to it. However, this affinity for having a few thousand people in one city dictating rules for 330 million others is not one that I share. And the only reason to keep people like me playing the same game is either a sick romantic attachment to the idea of the United States of America, or a penchant for authoritarianism and some sadistic need to see ideological opponents live under a system that contradicts their principles.

It’s probably both. I won’t rehash everything that is pitting people against each other while trying to convince us there’s a way to compromise. You can read that on my page, Why the U.S. Should Break Up.

I want to be a part of the conversation that moves the Overton Window from the concept of “when we vote the right people in office, our country will come together,” to “we have irreconcilable philosophical and moral principles, and we need to separate into societies that allow us to thrive with like-minded people.”

The more political discourse breaks down, the more this concept will become palatable to the average person. The idea that we can all be politically less stressed if we no longer share a political system with our ideological opposites should be an attractive one if we make that a more realistic option to a greater number of people.

That’s why I feel like the time is right for me to focus my attention once again on this important movement.

A Request For Help
One thing that will help me continue to put out original content every week is with contributing writers. If you share my belief that the only way forward is nonviolent secession, and if you’d like to contribute to the Peaceful Separation blog, please contact me at admin@peaceful-separation.org or DM me on my Facebook page.

Also, I would like to create a Peaceful Separation podcast so that these ideas can really come to life audibly. I’ve tried to record an inaugural episode several times, but I discovered that I suck at riffing in monologue. I’m much better at conveying ideas in conversation.

So if you have an interest in becoming a co-host of a Peaceful Separation podcast, reach out to me the same ways listed above.

I look forward to hearing from you!
