What Happens After Separation?
It's hard to imagine life without the USA. What could it look like?Apart from the issues raised in our Q&A, there’s another huge question: What happens after separation?
We don’t propose ONE answer. The options are limitless.
Some states will want to have exactly the type of governments they have now. There will be some that form “Little USAs” – coalitions with other states – that mimic the current political structure. They might even adopt carry over entities such as those mentioned in The REALLY Big Issues page, plus the Department of Education, FCC, EPA, etc.
And that’s fine. We aren’t making any specific recommendations. Our goal is for like-minded people to find happiness living in a society that best match shared values and goals.
Again, there will be many options. Some states/coalitions will choose a socialist (or even communist) system, others will choose a small government/free market system, and others might choose an anarchist model.
The best part is that these separate societies can live peacefully next to each other without the animosity that currently exists because of forced political bonds. Any benefits or consequences will be localized: A bad fiscal policy or bad pandemic response in Montana (for example) will only affect those living in that state and won’t affect (directly anyway) those living in Nebraska.
We believe this to be a much more preferable and pragmatic solution to the current political structure of the United States of America.
